Pickled Ramps

Despite the weird weather this spring, the Ramps (wild leeks) have been beautiful and bountiful. They have such a short window every spring so we thought we’d pickle some to help round out our first CSA boxes of the season and to give everyone a taste.

We’ve only been consistently frost-free for just over a week now so it’s been difficult to know when to start really planting. We lost some things to frost already in an attempt to get an early start on things. Thankfully Grants last day of “work work” was last Thursday, so with June rapidly approaching and our CSA only a few weeks from starting up, we’ve been playing catch up trying to get as many things in the ground as possible. We’re still aiming for mid June. Let’s hope the weather co-operates.
